All the above prices are dependent on the size of the individual dog, their behaviour, and coat type/condition—some Spaniels are tiny just as some Westies are large and thick coated. We will chat and agree on the price before the groom begins so no one is surprised.
This can be booked as a standalone treatment or at the same time as a groom. Older dogs or those that have thick plaque may require three or more sessions within the same week to reset the health of the gums and teeth. These can be purchased as a discounted bundle (see below).
If your dog will not allow me to clean their teeth during the initial consultation only £15 will be charged. We can discuss training that you can do to aim for cleaning in the future.
This clean can only be done after the initial consultation and deep clean has been performed and must be booked at the same time as a groom. This is for dogs that come regularly (every 6–8 weeks) and want to keep on top of their dental hygiene.
3 × 30 minute deep clean sessions, 10% discount. These can be added to grooming appointments or booked in as and when. Great for dogs that only come every few months. To be paid in advance.
5 × maintenance cleans, 10% discount. Ideal if you want your dog’s teeth cleaned with every groom through the year. To be paid in advance.
For multi-dog clients I’m offering a 20% discount on additional dogs. This is available on the initial consultation and deep clean session, maintenance cleans, and bundle purchases too

What’s in a name? Having worked in various dog ‘salons’ and ‘spas’ over the years I wanted to start a business focussed on grooming not the ‘extras’. Barbering is highly skilled and style-focused, I want your dog to look great and be as relaxed as possible. I deliver this through a combination of efficiency and clear communication with clients and their pooches alike.
How are you ‘welfare-focused’? In larger salons dogs can be handled by multiple staff members, be left waiting in cages/kennels between stages of grooming, and be confined in front of dryers where they can quickly become over heated and distressed. At the Margate Dog Barber your dog is only handled by me, will be my sole focus, and will be hand-dried.
How do I book a consultation/groom? The best way to get in touch is by email. Send me any pics of your dog looking it’s best and/or images of styles you would like to achieve, then we can book in a consultation. I will also include a quote for the groom, although I reserve the right to amend this depending on the dog’s behaviour and the condition of the coat.
The first appointment will allow a few extra minutes for you to explain what you want and for us to chat through how we can achieve and maintain that.
What are your prices, how do I pay? A guide to my pricing can be found in the ‘Prices’ section. Payment can me made in cash or online. Bank details supplied upon request.
Where does the grooming happen? All grooming takes place in my home and your dog is only ever handled by me.
What experience do I have? I undertook a practical training with Ali Redwood and then worked freelance for various salons in London between 2013 and 2018. Please check out my testimonials and gallery for examples of my work.
